Your hiking holiday along Skagerrak begins in the morning in the charming seaside town, Løkken reknown for its iconic white beach huts and lively atmosphere.
On the first hiking stage towards Lønstrup you will experience a breathtaking coastal landscape with wide open spaces and impressive dunes.
On your way you will pass Furreby Kystbatteri and the famous Rubjerg Knude Lighthouse, which in 2019 was moved some 70 m further away from the dunes to prevent it from falling into the sea.
After a day packed with adventure and a fair number of km clocked, you arrive to Hotel Kirkedal in Lønstrup – a cosy and inviting place where you can enjoy a welldeserved break. You also have the option of purchasing access to the hotel’s outdoor wellness area wich includes sauna, outdoor hot tub and cold plunge experience at a special price through our arrangement with the hotel.
DAY 2: LØNSTRUP - HIRTSHALS

- Overnight stay: Montra Skaga Hotel in Hirtshals
From Lønstrup you will head off along the coastline towards Hirtshals where you will pass by Skallerup Dune, Nørlev Beach, Liver Streem, and Tornby Beach. Underway, you will experience a beautiful, forever changing landcape – from large dune formations and varied trails to the everlasting surge of Skagerraks waves. We recommend you to turn into Tornby Sanddune plantation by Horsebæk after about one km walk from Liver Streem. It will give you a pleasant break from walking in the soft sand.
Here, tou can enjoy hiking in the pretty nature and the narrow trails in the plantation – a truely lovely experience. You will also pass Hirtshals Bunker Museum and Hirtshals Lighthouse, situated in an unbelievably beautiful area with a fantastic view of the sea and the picturesque fishing town.
Your second and last overnight stay of the holiday takes place on the 4 star Montra Skaga Hotel in Hirtshals, centrally located in the vibrant coastal town.
This is the ideal place to relax after the toughest stage of the hike, where you can now pamper your tired muscles in the pool and sauna of the hotel.

On your last day of the hiking holiday along Skagerak, you will experience a wonderful route from Hirtshals to Tversted. Here, you will discover a breathtaking and diverse natural paradise, where dense forests, meandering streams, and magnificent landscapes create the perfect setting for relaxation and adventure.
On your journey, you will pass through the scenic Uggerby Dune Plantation, where you can take in panoramic views from various lookout towers, and immerse yourself in the beautiful nature around the bridge at Uggerby Å.
As the hiking holiday approaches the end and your hiking boots cover mile after mile, don’t forget to breath in the fresh sea air and feel the calm along the West Coast, while you approach the final destination in the holiday town of Tversted.
The hiking holiday ends at Feriepartner Tversted, where our minibus will pick you up at 2:40 pm to bring you back to the point of departure in Løkken. The shuttle takes app. 60 minutes. Feel free to bring beverages for the ride.

DIFFICULTY LEVEL
The landscape is characterised by a flat terrain with just a few minor hills along Jutland's West Coast. On the stage from Løkken toTversted you will experience idyllic and calm nature where you can chill while enjoying the trails in those hilking boots.
THE SURFACE
You will primarily be walking along the beach, off a few gravelroads, through plantation trails, and on the main trail (Route 1) along the West Coast.

A good start of the day is imperative on a hiking holiday, hence breakfast at the hotels are included in the price. As for lunch and dinner, you have the liberty to choose when and wherever suits you best.
