With daily hiking passages of 15,5-23,5 km en route from Slettestrand to Lønstrup and overnight stays at Strandhotellet Blokhus and Løkken Badehotel, you will achieve the perfect balance between exercise, peace, and relaxation.

DAY 1: SLETTESTRAND - BLOKHUS
- Starting point: Rønnes Hotel in Slettestrand

Your first hiking stage follows the Northwest coast from Slettestrand to Blokhus. During the hike you will encounter white sandy beaches, endless dunes, dune plantations, and the fresh salty North Sea air.
You will pass Han Herred Havbåde in Slettestrand, one of Denmark’s few remaining shorelanding sites where you still se fishing boats being towed onto the beach. If your follow the beach and the trails in the sand dunes all day you will arrive at The Beach Hotel of Blokhus after app. 18,5 km of hiking.
Beware that the Danish Maritime Authority conduct military exercises at Tranum Beach on certain dates. On these disse occasions you must follow the trail towwards Tranum Dune Platage instead, as hiking along the beach is not possible.
If you follow the coastal trail named Kystsporet from Slettestrand through Tranum Klitplantage Blokhus Klitplantage the route will amount to app. 23,5 km, before you arrive in Blokhus.
After a wonderful first hiking day you may want to pamper your muscles in The Beach Hotel Blokhus‛ wellness area with pool, sauna, and massage nozzles.
This authentic beach hotel oozes luxury and high quality and is located in the heart of the nice coastal town – close to the sea and nature.
DAY 2: BLOKHUS - LØKKEN

- Overnight stay: Løkken Badehotel

Follwing a wonderful overnight stay at The Beach Hotel of Blokhus you can choose to hike along the beach or follow Trail 100 towards the next destination, Løkken.
Regardless of which route you take a beautiful hiking stage awaits you. If you follow the beach you may enjoy the sight of the characteristic white beach huts by Løkken and the iconic bunkers from World War 2, which are still scattered along the coast. This route is app. 16 km in distance.
On the other hand, if you choose Trail 100 you will be working your way through a varied landscape of dune plantations, forestry areas, and open moor.
In the passing you will see Kettrup Bjerge, a beautiful hilly nature area app. 9 km from Løkken. From one of the highest lookout oints you can enjoy en overwhelming view of the sea and the surrounding landscape. This route stretches over app. 20,5 km.
By the arrival in Løkken you will meet a lively coastal town with a charming blen of old skipper’s houses, nicecafés, arts & crafts, and the iconic peer from where you can experience the local surf culture.
Your second and last overnight stay of your hiking holiday takes place in Løkken Badehotel, a lovely apartment hotel located in the heart of the charming seaside town. Here, you can enjoy the evening i the hotel’s reataurant or take a relaxing dip into the indoor pool, before you end this day full of outdoor experiences and fresh sea air.
DAY 3: LØKKEN - LØNSTRUP
- Distance: 15,5 km
- Pick-up: Keramoda Lønstrup
On your third and last hiking stage along the Northwest coast await magnificent and unique experiences – you can look forward to a day full of beautiful landscapes, historical sights, and a spectacular view over The North Sea.
After just a few kilometers‛ hike you will reach Furreby Kystbatteri, Rubjerg Old Church, and last but not least Rubjerg Knude, one of the major tourist attractions of North Jutland. Here you will experience the impressive sand dune and the iconic lighthouse, which was moved 70 meter further away from the coastline in 2019 to stop it from falling into the sea.
The hiking holiday ends in the charming little coastal town Lønstrup, where glassblowers, ceramicists, and jewellers taint the characteristics of the town and creat a very unique atmosphere.
Your hiking trip ends by Keramoda in Lønstrup, where the minibus willl pick you up at app. 3.30 pm. The minibus will take you back to starting point of Rønnes Hotel in Slettestrand. The shuttle will take app. 1 hour 5 min. Feel free to bring beverages for the journey.

LEVELS
The flat terrain with just a few small hills characterises the landscape along Jutland's westcoast. The stretch from Slettestrand to Lønstrup provides an idyllic and soothing outdoor experience which will enable you to chill completely in your hiking boots and enjoy the quiet.
THE SURFACE
Primarily, you will be walking along the beach, on a few gravel roads, Trail 100 through the plantations and on the main trail (Route 1, the North Sea trail and Hærvejen) along the West Coast.
FOOD DURING THE HIKE
A good start to the day is important, hence breakfast at the hotels is included in the price of your hiking holiday. Lunch and dinner is at your own choice and expence during the hike. That way, you are in charge of when, where, and what to eat.
