DAY 1: AGGER - STENBJERG
- Point of departure: The restaurant Signalmasten in Agger
- Distance: 20,5 km
- Overnight stay: Stenbjerg Kro
The hiking holiday begins in the morning in the picturesque fisher- and holiday village of Agger, Thy. This is a safe place to park your car during the whole holiday.
From here on, your hiking boots will be tied and take you through the Southern part of National Park Thy, where breathtaking nature awaits.
You will hike off Redningsvejen through Lodbjerg Heath and Dune Plantation where the large densely planted areas create a varied landcape and beautiful views. In the middle of the dune plantation you will find the gem of the national park, Lodbjerg Lighthouse – an experience you simply must not miss.
Attention: Be aware that the area between Lyngby and Stenbjerg (after app. 17-18 km of hiking) may be flooded. In that case, it is possible to follow an alternative route around the flooded area.
Later, you will reach Stenbjerg. You can look forward to your first night where you will stay here, in the charming inn, Stenbjerg Kro.
The inn is located in beautiful surroundings in the middle of the national park. We can highly recommend enjoying their dinner, alway made from locally sourced food straight from the national park’s produce.

DAY 2: STENBJERG - KLITMØLLER
- Distance: 23 km
- Overnight stay: Guesthouse Klitmøller
On the second day of the hiking holiday, you will experience the gentle lapping of waves and feel the sand between your toes when setting off on the day’s first stage along the beach – side by side with the roaring North Sea.
After just 6 km’s hiking, you will have reached the charming fisher hamlet of Nr. Vorupør, offering several exciting attractions.
To start with, there is the visiting centre of National Park Thy, which is worth paying a visit to become familiar with tha many hidden treasures and major nature gems of the park.
From Nr. Vorupør the route continues along the Coastroad through the harsh landscape where you will pass the unique nature by Bøgsted Rende and Vangså. The stage of this day ends in the lively surfer town Klitmøller.
Here you will stay the night in the charming and cozy Guesthouse Klitmøller full of atmosphere. Every bedroom is named and decorated with inspiration from the local nature and culture. At this guesthouse you will be able to relax and enjoy en welldeserved night’s sleep after the longest hiking stage of the holiday.

DAY 3: KLITMØLLER - HANSTHOLM
- Distance: 13 km
- Overnight stay: Montra Hotel Hanstholm
Similar to the first two days, the third hiking day offers ample opportunity for deep contemplation and reflection in perfect harmony with nature and the roaring North Sea.
The route takes you from Klitmøller along the beach to the fishing town Hanstholm, providing one of the largest fishing ports in Denmark with an annual turnover of more than 40.000 ton food fish.
The day concludes with an overnight stay at the 4 star Montra Hotel Hanstholm, which i situated right in the middle of the town. From here it is hardly any distance to exciting and historical attractions, among which you will find the Bunkermuseum Hanstholm – the largest fortification in the Nordics from WW2. Moreover, the museum offers a fascinating exhibition of the Danish family film called „The Olsen Gang in Jutland‟, where the gang leader Egon and his the others were chasing gold in the area.
At Montra Hotel Hanstholm you will be accommodated in spacious, contemporarily furbished bedrooms where you may rest your legs after a good day’s hike. Or you can relax in the indoor swimming pool and sauna at the hotel – a perfect way to end the third stage of the hiking holiday.

DAY 4: HANSTHOLM - VIGSØ
- Distance: 10 km
- Point of pick-up: Vigsø Holiday Centre
On the 4th and last day of the hiking holiday, your legs may be tired, hence the route is made shorter this day.
The route follows the trail between Hanstholm and Vigsø – a scenic experience where beach and landscape melt together in a beautiful ending to the hiking holiday .
After app. 10 km hike you will arrive at Vigsø Holiday centre – the fina ldestination of your hiking trip in the National Park of Thy. From here, you can savour a grand view of the area, making it a perfect place for your final holiday photo with your hiking partner – or perhaps a cool selfie.
At 1:30 pm, our minivan will pick you up by Vigsø Holiday centre and take you back to the point of departure in Agger. The drive will take app. 55 minutes. You are welcome to bring beverages for the drive.

LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY
The flat terrain with just a few minor hills characterise the landscape of Jutland's West Coast. On the stretch from Agger to Vigsø, you will experience idyllic an tranquil nature surroundings where you can decompress and enjoy the hike with your feet in your hiking boots.
THE SURFACE
You will primarily be hiking on woodland trails in National Park Thy, just a few gravelroads and trails with STENMEL along the West Coast. On the way, you will also experience walking on the beach and through meadows and plantations.
FOOD ON THE HIKE
A good start of the day is imperative on a hiking holiday, hence breakfast at the hotels are included in the price. As for lunch and dinner, you have the liberty to choose when and wherever suits you best. To make it easy for you we have prepared a food guide providing you with an overview of the best places to eat along the route from Agger to Vigsø.
